Showdown_Beta_V2 Update

I've been working a lot on Showdown recently. The major problem is the lighting. You can be looking at something and turn slightly, and the light will change its intensity. Heres a pic:

Its really distracting and annoying. But besides that (and some weird glass reflections), everything else seems to be working fine. Here's a brief list of the updates:

1. Added a trench through the map.
2. Made the map wider, to accommodate the trench.
3. Shortened the distance between spawn and first room.
4. Added a skybox, to help with the illusion of the map.
5. Turned off warning when other team is capping middle point.
6. Added formal lighting...kind of (See above).
7. Added more props to hide behind.
8. Fixed some exploits.
9. Made changes to health and ammo.
10. Added secret!

I'll keep working on this and try to have it out soon!

Map Downloads

I found a site to host my maps for me so you guys can easily download them. I haven't decided if I'm going to upload the infamous Pool Of Death, because its such a large file (and it sucks). Also, I keep meaning to make version three, so I guess when I do, I'll upload that.

You can find the download links to the right.

New Map Woes

I've been working on a new map. Its kind of a port of the popular Counter-Strike breakfloor map. I'm having trouble with the compiling of all the blocks. I don't think Hammer can handle all of the gibs (Broken parts) that the blocks are going to make when broken. So I'm trying to lower the amount of broken block parts.

Also, I'm debating on whether or not to have it where its only one class, like Scouts only. Because when play testing some early test maps, a solider or a heavy and dominate the map.

If you have any comments, feel free to leave them below.

First Post!

Sup Guys,

While my Internet is acting up, I decided to make a blog. Don't know if I'll stick with this (Posting and all) but we'll see. I made it a "Jester's Maps" theme, for lack of a better idea, but I think I can change it up if I want to. Plus, this will give me something to do while I combat my withdrawal from not playing Team Fortress 2 because of monster lag.

Also, it (my blog) is going to suck for awhile while I get all the kinks worked out. Ultimately, I would like to be able to upload my maps and have people download them, but, because this is a free account, I don't think Google is going to let me move huge amounts of data. So we'll see.
